Biography

Cathy O'Dowd is the first woman ever to climb Mt Everest from both the south and north sides.

Cathy shares with her audiences the principles of leadership, and teamwork that twice took her to the summit of the world's highest mountain and has become of of Europe's top motivational speakers.

As a motivational speaker, Cathy O'Dowd combines adventure, drama, failure and success, sharing with you lessons learnt from one of the world's most spectacular challenges: Everest. She weaves together the literal adventure of the climb and the metaphorical challenge of reaching for the peak of achievement, sharing her stories of challenge, adventure, passion for life and the reality of death.

Her inspirational keynote speeches focus on self-motivation, team dynamics, risk-assessment and tackling seemingly overwhelming challenges one step at a time. All presentations are illustrated with spectacular photographs and are available as 50 minute keynotes or three hour seminars.

Cathy has been speaking professionally for eight years, presenting to corporations in 22 countries on 5 continents. She is the author of two books, including Just for the love of it, the dramatic account of her first three Everest expeditions. She continues to be an active adventurer, with some of the world's highest peaks in her sights.
