Renowned sales and motivational expert and star of the “The Apprentice” Saira Khan has taken the UK by storm since the end of the smash hit BBC 2 TV series produced by Talkback Thames. She is currently recording a BBC 1 daytime series called “Temper your Temper” which will be shown in Autumn 2006, and a CBBC programme, “Beat The Boss” to be aired in May 06. She is a regular columnist for the second series of “The Apprentice” www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice.
She has been snapped up by the Daily Mirror where she has been given her own column, “Saira Sorts it”, and has written a self help book titled, “P.U.S.H. For Success” published by Vermillion – part of the prestigious Random House stable.
Saira is a regular face on TV and has presented on BBC 1’s “Departure Lounge”, in addition to recording the “Heaven and Earth Show”, “Test the Nation”, “This Week”, “Desi DNA” and “Run For Glory” a BBC 1 primetime documentary about the London Marathon as well as regularly appearing on “BBC Breakfast News”. For BBC 2 Saira has recorded two features for “The Culture Show” and appeared on “This Week” with guests including Andrew Neil. The ever busy Saira has also just finished recording a series of programmes “Live and Learn” for BBC Interactive as well as filming various pilots for BBC 1, BBC 2 and BBC 3.
Saira has appeared on ITV’s “Jonathan Dimbleby Show”, “Loose Women”, GMTV and ITN. In addition to guest slots on FIVE’s “Greatest Ever 80’s Movies”, and SKY Saira has also undertaken numerous radio engagements on Radio Five Live, Radio 2, Radio 4’s “Woman’s Hour”, LBC Radio, XFM, Virgin and most regional BBC radio stations.
The print media has also gone wild for Saira who has featured in the Guardian, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, Sun, The Sunday Telegraph, Financial Times and The Sunday Times. Glossy magazine appearances have been in Grazia, Marie Claire, Asian Woman and Asiana.
Saira has gained both an MA and BA Hons degree as well as working in sales for some of the UK’s leading blue chip companies including, United Biscuits, Yell and The Guardian Media Group, she is probably the most famous saleswoman in the UK right now and also the most sought after.
Saira passionately believes that the disadvantages of upbringing can be overcome and that once one recognises and realises ones own potential there is no limit to achieving one’s goals and dreams. She is living proof of that. She is a strong voice in supporting multicultural Britain and her views have been recognised and appreciated by both the media and politicians.
Saira is a regular corporate speaker on business, women in business, British Muslims, diversity, self development, sales training and development and the Apprentice.
She has taken part in numerous corporates, public speaking engagements and high profile events with leading organisations such as Business Link, Derbyshire County Council, East London University, Eurostar, Neopost, London Metropolitan University, Nottingham University, RHM Food Group, Save the Children, Warren House, Women in Business and Wrexham Business Week to name but a few.
Saira was also invited by the Director General of the BBC Mark Thompson to speak to senior BBC employees.
